Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard
Modern dance company Pilobolus will fill the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard with movement, music and performance while artist Bo Gehring projects video portraits of the troupe on the courtyard’s walls at this special Friday before Memorial Day event.
Join free dance workshops open to all or watch Pilobolus perform in the courtyard. Have Gehring—the Portrait Gallery’s 2013 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition winner—take your own share-able video portrait. Free; no reservations required.
The result of elaborate cinematic teamwork carried out at Villa Cargnacco, the home of the Italian poet and military hero Gabriele d’Annunzio, D’Annunzio’s Cave records architectural details inside fifteen different rooms of this extraordinary dwelling.Preceding the feature is the short film Two Museums, which explores the interesting parallels between two luminous white structures in different parts of the world.
