Founded in 1923, Time has put on its cover all incumbent presidents from Warren Harding to Barack Obama, with the exception of Herbert Hoover. Beginning with Franklin Roosevelt, this exhibition explored the modern presidency through the covers of America’s oldest and most recognized weekly news magazine.

From more than 3,300 entries from every state, a jury of experts chose forty-nine works of art in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, video and new media, and photography. The artists exhibited here use portraiture or self-portraiture to explore complex issues of identity, while they also test the boundaries of figurative art.

Faces of the Frontier: Photographic Portraits from the American West,
1845-1924

The American West was dramatically reconstituted during the 80 years between the Mexican War and the passage of the Indian Citizenship Act in 1924. This exhibition tells the story of these changes through 100 portrait photographs of the defining men and women of this period.
